Recruitment of Head of Operations

Head of Operations(Starting Salary: $86,575)

Being a senior executive of the Secretariat, the incumbent will report to the Board and Secretary General. He/she will play a strategic leadership and secretarial role as well as manage levy collection, compensation payment and information technology (IT) functions of the Board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Being Committee Secretary to report to and execute for the Committee on Levy and Compensation as well as the Committee on Objections and Secretary General on decisions, progresses, issues and results of various processes.
  • Contributing to the development of the Board’s strategies, business plans and budgets.
  • Overseeing and managing the levy collection and compensation payment processes, and ensuring the accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency over those processes.
  • Ensuring the Board’s operational activities meet and integrate with requirements for fulfilling legal stipulations in relevant ordinances and general duty of care.
  • Ensuring the adequacy of IT infra-structure and support to the Board.
  • Leading, building and developing an effective team.
  • Escalating potentially valid objection cases for consideration by the Committee on Objections.

 Requirements

  • University graduate of relevant discipline with at least 8 years’ relevant managerial experience in taking leading role with structured organization.
  • A creative, devoted, proactive, passionate, detail-minded, hardworking and reliable person with high integrity and capability in managing revenue collection and compensation payment systems and its calculations. (Experience in handling figures, accounting and budgeting will be considered.)
  • Strong experience in leading the information technology department, IT infra-structure development, systems maintenance and enhancement of the Secretariat. (Experience in systems digitization will be considered.)
  • Knowledge in procurement as well as handling tenders and contracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, creativeness and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese to liaise and coordinate with others, and to prepare discussion papers for Committees.
  • Sound PC skills such as MS Word Processing (Chinese), Excel, Power Point etc.
